Oh my! Lets hope it is an interesting case (but not so interesting that the jury has to be sequestered).

wah, so fast already tio jury duty... damn lucky man.

But hang on, don't they excuse lawyers from jury duty to prevent undue influence amongst jury members?

Heh!

A non-citizen doesn't have to serve. You just have to sign an affidavit and mail in some documents.

I just find it amusing that I kenah selected so fast!

Alameda county seems desperate for jurors, as my wife and I get these quite often.

Sometimes, you call the number and they don't even need you to come in.

Once, I was summoned for a potential capital murder case that was going to take about 4 months, plus another couple months for sentencing. They gave us this huge written questionaire that asked my opinion of EVERYTHING. When they found out what a lefty I was, they called me and told me I had been struck from the pool.

Odd indeed - I've lived in my town for three years and have yet to get jury summons ... although it's not a university thing, because I have students who have received jury summons.

I say though, those of us who pay federal and state taxes should get something out of these governments besides potholes and floods. Bring on jury duty!
